There is an old urban legend where a young woman receives an unsigned card on her wedding day with the advice, “Hope you are happy in your marriage. Now, go get yourself some girlfriends.” I always liked that story. It’s true, you need some good, solid, womenfolk to help you navigate this journey. I am talking “Steel Magnolias” meets “Designing Women” meets “Sex and the City” meets “Thelma & Louise.” These are people who shoot straight, hug hard, and help you get acquitted of the charges. It took me over forty years to find the unit called the CrazyGirls – it isn’t one thing, it is many things that have allowed me to become who I am becoming and also be the kind of girlfriend that I was built to be. While we will be taping segments of our conversations as we wax poetic to your questions – please know that these vignettes are part of the ceaseless conversation of friendships that run deep and wide.
